I read your note.
Properly. Twice, often. If something is missing I will send a short reply asking. No automated triage, no junior in the way.

Send a note via the form, an old-fashioned email, or even a proper letter through the post. I reply within two working days, and almost always with a question or two.
If you would rather start with a coffee in person, the studio is in Hackney Wick and there is a pot already on.
All fields are optional except the email, but the more you can share the better the first reply will be. Your note comes straight to me — no tracking, no third parties.
The bits I usually end up answering on the call, written down here so you can skip ahead if you are in a hurry.
Most projects start with a kick-off call and a long question. Then four to twelve weeks of work, depending on the scope, with a steady rhythm of weekly check-ins and printed proofs. I work on no more than three projects at once so the studio stays unhurried.
Identity work is usually six to eight weeks; a website is closer to ten. Smaller jobs like a single mark or a pamphlet can be done in two.
Yes, and gladly. Logo-only commissions are usually three to five weeks and include the mark, three lockups, basic colour and typographic neighbours, and a one-page document a future intern can actually read on a Monday morning.
By project, not by hour. After our first call I send a written proposal with a fixed cost per phase and a clear list of what is included. No hidden line items, no surprise change orders.
If the project sits inside a tight budget I will say so and suggest where to spend it.
I work with founders, charities, independent retailers, presses, and small teams who would rather their company not look like every other tab open right now. Agencies sometimes too, when there is a particular reason for it.
Yes, most projects run remotely. I have happily worked with clients in Lisbon, Brooklyn, Wellington, and a houseboat in Amsterdam. I will travel for a kick-off or a sign-off if it makes sense for the project.
Almost always. Most of my favourite work lives in folders behind non-disclosure agreements. Mention what you are working on in the form and I will gladly walk you through the most relevant examples on the call.
I still rather like a proper letter. If you are sending samples, printed work, or something I will want to hold in my hands, the studio address below will reach me. I keep a small box for incoming post and reply by hand when I can.
Please don't send anything fragile without an email warning first; the postman is not always gentle.
